6 Success Stories You May Have Missed in February

ImageHere are great ideas and good news from around the Winnefox Library System:

⇒ Montello Public Library invited guest story time readers in January and February, among whom was  Marquette County's 4-H Youth Development Educator.

⇒ The Caestecker Public Library in Green Lake celebrated Library Lovers Month by hosting a Beanie Babies adoption event by "asking for a donation in lieu of a set adoption fee, with proceeds going towards the care of our library turtles Myrtle and Frankie."  They also held their first Seed Library event of 2015 by hosting "Master Gardener and Seed Library co-founder KC Simmers for ideas on when and techniques for how to start your garden seeds."

⇒ Markesan Library has challenged Mill Pond Public Library in Kingston to a Penny War fundraiser, that will benefit both libraries. "Starting on Feb. 16th and running through March 16th both libraries will collect pennies. The losing library has to display a booby prize of the winning library's choice for the following month. The winning library gets to display the Grand Penny for a month."

⇒ Neenah Public Library offered a Little Reader winter read-to-me challenge; "The challenge is to read 100 books to your little one during the month of February. Complete the challenge and earn a free book to keep!"

⇒ Waushara County libraries have partnered with UW-Extension to provide STEM programs of hands-on problem-based learning for children.

⇒ The Fond du Lac Public Library is adding to its collection of tech equipment available for checkout. Recent additions include 8 Makey Makey kits, 8 Kano/Raspberry Pi kits, a Lytro light-field camera, and 8 Arduino kits.
